Our Sgt At Arms – Comrade Andy McGregor will be adding information to this page in reference to the need for volunteers as part of a Flag Party where members of Branch 137 will attend various functions and fly the flags while on the march or at a static gathering. You may remember our November 11th Remembrance Day Parade, the flag party leads the parade followed by the Napanee and District Caledonia Pipes and Drums. We have had 16 members in the flag party in past Remembrance day Parades. Our visiting military members from Canadian Forces Joint Signals Regiment (CFJSR) have been members of our flag party most years. OPP, Firefighters and others have joined in this wonderful display of history and colour. Our flag party has also been invited to the June 3 annual parade in Tamworth when D Day is remembered. We have also gone to the Napanaee Arena to commemorate Remembrance and the start of a new hockey season where the President usually drops the puck.
Dear Comrades
This year we had several flag bearers turn out to assist in the flag parties. This has been a great response to the request for members to come out and help.
Thank you for your assistance in the several events we attended. We also look for assistance at any funerals for our Ordinary members (retired military and RCMP). We have had a chance to attend a Legion service at our local Funeral homes. If you think you might be able to assist in this worth while event, please connect with me through our office at 613-354-5275
